Find a room to yourself, with all you need and nothing more.
Roomist takes you from your desktop to a quiet room for specific tasks. These tailored rooms keep your apps, files and webpages ready for when you return. No friction, no distractions, no endless searching, just you getting on with what you set out to do.
This first version is just for testing and can be a bit rough around the edges. If you’d like to share it with others, please let me know, so I can help them and get their feedback too.
Roomist.exe from there, not from inside the zip.The Read me first in the zip explains the rest.
While you’re in a room, Roomist minimises whatever you don’t need and hides the Windows taskbar, putting its own in its place with just the apps for that room. It never closes your programs, so nothing you’re working on gets lost. When you end the session, your normal taskbar comes back, and if it’s ever missing, starting Roomist again brings it back. Roomist can also start when you log in, if you’d like it to.
To remove it, open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, find Roomist and click Uninstall. It takes away everything it added to Windows, and asks whether you’d like to keep your rooms and history.
Everything Roomist notes down stays on your computer. Once a day it checks whether there’s a newer version, without sending anything about you. You can delete everything it has noted down at any time, in Options under Further options.
